A year in Provence
I just finished reading Peter Mayle's "A year in Provence". A real fun and witty book account of Mayle and his wife's first year in Lubéron. He descibes the provençal way of life, their strong accent (c'est bieng :-), the mistral, his gastronomic experiments, his friends, neighbours, the builders, the paranoid Monsieur Massot who believes the Germans are the root of all problems, Faustin and his obsession with things going wrong, truffles and of course "le vin". A lot of "bon mots" thrown in as well.
Pretty tongue-in-cheek at times i think, overall a very nice light read. I'd give it 3.5 stars :-)
